Deluxe Whisker Biscuit QS - Review

Well if you are like me you steer clear of working on things that aren't broke. I can't number the times in my younger days when I would tinker with things trying to get them to work just a little better only to end up doing a major over haul due to my breaking it altogether.

So you can imagine my my hesitation when I was asked to try out a new arrow rest. You see my bow is not new, its 10 years old this year and to me shoots just as good today as it did the day I pulled my first arrow from it. The only real complaint I have though is one that is common with most arrow rests. They hold the arrow as long as the bow is straight up, tilt it left or right and chances are the arrow will fall from the rest. Anyone who has shot a bow to any extent has had this happen more than a few times.

A while back Carolina Archery Products sent me their new arrow rest for review. It took awhile for me to get up the nerve to swap out my old rest, you see I'm no bow mechanic, I'm the type that takes my bow in for all work, adjustments and the like. (My wife probably thinks I just like having an excuse to hang out at the shop. This may be true, but hey, my bow always works great!)

Anyway, I promised you this weekend I would try it out. First, I decided I had to install it myself; to me that was important. It has got to be easy to set up and use or its not worth writing about; much less using on my personal bow. Installation took a whopping 8 minutes, including taking off the old rest. A few minutes later I was pulling arrows from my deck The first group of 5 arrows were within 3 inches of each other. I turned the bow left, then right, then upside down. The design of the Biscuit speaks for itself. There is no way your arrow will come out of the rest until you release the shot. This speaks a lot of things to me. This tells me I no longer have to worry about my arrow. For most of us we only want to think about the game we are after. No one likes to worry about the equipment when we're in the woods. The Whisker Biscuit allows you to concentrate on your shot and nothing more. I whole heartily suggest you get one for your bow today. Don't make the mistake I did and put it off any longer.
